DNA of lead spreads: Baby

- [Instructor] Contents page is super simple. Four kids, different ones, in a square photo that covers the right-hand page and one column on the left. The photo bleeds to three sides. There's no white frame around it. This is as clean as you can make it. Even a little on the plain side. The contents are in a simple list centered in the column, set in the text typeface, light and bold versions. The text type is called Haffner, which is a face custom designed for Time and unavailable for general use. Pay attention to the page numbers. They're differentiated from the headlines only by their type weight. There's no need for dot leaders, which are inefficient and kind of old-fashioned anyway, leftovers from the typewriter. This is simpler and cleaner. The section heads, babies, kids, and teens are in color, and we'll see these colors again starting on the next page. This is the lead spread of the babies section.
