Join Nigel French for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating interactive PDFs, part of InDesign CS3 Long Documents.
In this movie we are going to look at creating an interactive PDF.…Before we do let's just say a few words about working with interactive PDFs.…The type of interactivity I'm talking about is bookmarks, hyperlinks and buttons. You can also add movies and sound,…but we are not going to do that in this case.…The interactivity that you add is only can be visible in the resulting PDF file.…You are not going to see it in InDesign.…To use the interactivity, you want to make a PDF that is Acrobat Version 6 or later.…
With bookmarks, hyperlinks and buttons you can get away with Version 5, but if you are going to be using movies and sound,…definitely it needs to be Version 6 and these days pretty much every one has version 6 or later anyway.…The last point I want to make is the first bullet point we have here and that is the best interactive PDFs are those…that are designed with the screen in mind, i.e. horizontal format…and probably using sans-serif type faces, which are considered more readable.…As an example, I'm just going to show you the InDesign magazine, which is a wonderful magazine that I highly recommend.…
