- [Instructor] Many of your designs will begin from scratch so it's important to know how to create a new document in InDesign. Launch Adobe InDesign on your computer and either choose File, New, Document or click the Create New button within the start workspace. In the new document dialogue box, change the units to inches or your desired unit of measurement. For this project, we want the size to be 8.5 inches wide by 5.5 inches tall. Click the Landscape icon if necessary. If you're building a document with left and right-hand pages, leave facing pages enabled. For this project, we're going to disable facing pages. In the margins section, define a reference for the margins of the project. Here we'll leave them set to a half of an inch. If your document bleeds, meaning the ink will extend to the edge of the page, add a bleed value of an eighth of an inch. Enable the Preview checkbox to get an idea of what your…
