Create frames

- [Instructor] Let's take a look at the basics of creating frames in InDesign. Starting from a blank page here, I'll add a text frame by taking the type tool and clicking and dragging. When I release, I can immediately start typing in some text. Then to make modifications to the frame, I can open the text frame options from the object menu, and here, you can set things like the number of columns. I'll make it three columns, as well as the gutter width between columns, and the overall frame width. I'll make that 100 pixels. And with the preview check box checked, I can see that change right away in my layout. You can also set the inset spacing here and choose how the text aligns vertically in the frame. In the other tabs, you can access baseline options, make the text frame auto size to fit the text within it, and set up custom footnote options for this particular frame.
