Create based-on styles
- [Instructor] In this movie I'll look at creating style relationships using the "Based On" option. When you base one style on another style you create a parent-child relationship. And in this document I have head two based on head one. So if we take a look the definition of head two, I'll right click on there and choose edit, we see that it is based on head one. Which means that it starts out exactly like head one and then we make some exceptions to it which become the things that make it unique. And in this case those style settings are listed right here. The implications of this are that if you change the parent style all of the styles that are based on it will also change. Except for those things that you made unique about the offspring styles. So I also have in this document a third level of head. And I'd like to now create a head three style. I zoomed in on that by pressing command spacebar, click and drag.
