- In this video I'll show you how to use conditional text so that your InDesign documents can have multiple purposes. It will make it really easy to use one document for both print and web. So if you want to follow along, I'm in the exercise files in Chapter 5, 05-04 in the start folder, just going to open up the conditional text idml file. Now I'm going to use Command+ to zoom in quite a bit and use Control+ on Windows and I'm going to go ahead and save the document as conditional text indd in the end folder. Now if I double click to edit this text you can see that on the words information request I have an email link and on the words our website I have a web link. Now those will work just great when I'm exporting to html but when I want to export this for print those hyperlinks aren't going to be any good so I've added this information in parentheses and I only want that to appear in the print version.
