Common changes to PDF presets
When it comes to exporting a PDF, most people just pick a preset out of this pop-up menu, and they run with it, figuring Adobe must know more than them. But no one knows your documents and your needs better than you. If you want to make a great PDF, you have to customize the Export PDF dialog box. But don't get me wrong. I usually start with one of these presets. May be a PDF x-1a but then I tweak it to give me the result I need. Now in this movie I'm going to talk about the most common changes that people make. So, when I skip over some feature that you see here in the dialog box, it just means I'll talk about it later on in this chapter. The most obvious thing that you need to customize is the page range. Sooner or later you're going to want to export just part of your document. Let's say you want to export just pages five and six, so you come in here and you type 5 to 6.
