Join Deke McClelland for an in-depth discussion in this video Coloring type, part of Learning InDesign (2011).
In this exercise, I am going to show you how to assign color to both text and…text frames inside InDesign.…I am going to start off by re-coloring this text right here, Malis raconteurs, at…the top of the black paragraph.…I will double-click somewhere inside that text frame to switch to the Type tool.…Then I will double-click and drag over those first two words to select them.…Now color is a character-level formatting attribute,…so up here in the Control panel, go ahead and click on the A to switch back to…your Character Formatting Controls, and then, in order to assign a color to the…interior of the text, you want this fill option right there.…
Go ahead and click on the arrowhead next to it--…that will bring up a list of color swatches that are saved along with the active…document--and then select the swatch you want to apply.…For example, I am going to click on R=225 G= 140 and B=85 to assign that color to the text.…Then I will go ahead and press the Escape key in order to hide that pop-up panel.…
