- [Voiceover] We've considered how words break, we also need to consider how lines break. There's a feature called balance ragged lines, that will give you lines of close to equal length, and I can apply that to the second paragraph by putting my cursor in the paragraph, coming to my control panel menu and choosing balance ragged lines. Now, it's not always going to get it right, so it's not going to necessarily enhance the meaning of the text, but it can be a good starting point. And I think it can be useful if you incorporate this into a paragraph style definition that is applied to your sub-heads and your heads. I don't think it's a good idea to apply this to body text, because then it will start ragging in a very unpredictable way, but the feature is right there. Balance ragged lines, part of indents and spacing. Moving to the next page, any line breaks that you add should both accentuate the meaning of the text and create a more interesting text shape.
