Applying kerning and tracking to text
- [Instructor] As the size of text increases, the need to adjust the space between particular characters of that text increases. Note in the Art text, the large space that appears between the letters, R and T. Using the Type tool, click to insert your cursor between those letters. Click the Up and Down arrow keys in the Kerning field to increase or decrease the kerning between those characters. Alternatively, hold down the Alt or Option key on your keyboard and press the Left and Right arrow keys to increase or decrease the kerning value between those characters. In contrast to kerning, tracking is adjusting the space between a range of selected characters. Using the Type tool, select a range of text that you'd like to apply tracking to. In the Properties panel increase or decrease the tracking value to increase or decrease the space between those characters. Alternatively, hold down the Alt or Option key and use the…
