Adjusting display performance

- In this movie, I'll show you how to adjust what's known as the display performance, which controls the quality of the appearance of your placed graphics onscreen. So, let's say I start by zooming in on this lower right view of Saturn, and I'll do so by pressing the command and spacebar keys, those would be the control and spacebar keys on the Mac, in order to get the zoom tool. And then I'll just marquee the image like so. Notice that we end up with these very jagged transitions around the rings and the shadows from the rings and so forth and if I command + spacebar click or control + spacebar click to zoom in even further, we just get bigger and bigger pixels so that the star back here is just four pixels wide, which doesn't actually make any sense, because if I click on the image with the selection tool, I'll see underlit Saturn.tif highlighted in the Links panel, and then I can see the resolution of the original image is 267 pixels per inch.
