Adding semantic information

- [Instructor] HTML truly does the heavy lifting of styling and structuring a document but alas, it is not perfect. To communicate important information regarding the nature of a section of an ebook, for example, distinguishing between an appendix or an index or delineating a dedication versus a foreword, you'll need to employ what is known as semantic inflection to highlight the common publishing structures in content. So for example, using a section tag at the start of a chapter doesn't actually tell a reader, maybe one who is accessing the content via assistive technologies, that this is a new chapter. The name of the chapter may read chapter two but it might not, there's a lot of content that has no chapter title at all. Landmarks are one way that the semantic information is exposed to the readers, but Landmarks are only visible in a few reading systems like Adobe Digital Editions.
