Add special characters

- [Instructor] In this movie we'll see how to add special characters to your text using both the glyphs panel and the contextual controls. I'll start by zooming in on my recipe steps, and here we need to add some special characters to the bottom recipe to make it match the top one. Specifically, we need to change the fractions so they look like this one, and also to insert the degree symbol after this temperature right here. So first to insert the fractions, I'll take my type tool and use the contextual controls, and in order to see these, you have to have them turned on in advanced type preferences. So, I'll choose preferences, advanced type and here they are down at the bottom. In particular, we're interested in this first one that'll give us fractions. Then to use the contextual control, all I have to do is select the text, so I'll select this fraction, and the alternate fraction appears whenever my cursor is over the highlighted text.
