- [Instructor] In this movie we'll take a look at working with audio and video in InDesign. On page two of our document I've placed a little video of candy here in the Table of Contents. And you can place audio and video just like text and images using the Place command. Note that mp3 is the preferred format for audio, and mp4 is preferred for video. To manage placed audio and video, you use the Media panel, which is found in Window, Interactive, Media. With the video selected in the layout, I can preview it here in the panel. And you may notice the top of the video time is cut off if you're using InDesign on the Mac. This was a bug in the program at the time of this recording. You can also set options in the panel, like Play on Page Load, and choose a poster, which is the static image that appears on the page when the video isn't playing.
