- [Instructor] Let's look at what ARIA roles look like. Folding ARIA roles into your content is not at present very straightforward especially given how important they are at the assistive technology level. Some ARIA best practices, let's talk about that first. Don't add a role when the HTML markup does a perfectly fine descriptive job. So the HTML doing the role of describing the content is always your first best practice. Add an ARIA role when it needs another layer of meaning. So it's an aside, and then it's a footnote. So then you need to add a role equals footnote. If the aside does a perfectly good job describing what's happening there, then you don't need a role. Always privilege HTML first to do the descriptive job. Only use one digital publishing role per attribute. Having more than that is overkill and will overburden assistive technology. Avoid unnecessary repetition of roles. This will cause things like titles to get repeated by assistive technology. So if you have a title…
