413 Create a fast-and-easy fake duotone
- [Instructor] We're looking at a lovely image behind this sidebar here but let's say that for whatever reason we don't want to call so much attention to the image and we want to kind of tone it down a bit. Now you can go to the effects panel and, you know, reduce the opacity but there is also another effect that you can do called the duotone. That is kind of like a mix of just two colors. I want to show you a fast way to do a very easy fake duotone in InDesign and I guess I want to make sure that you understand that the proper way to do a duotone though is to take this beautiful image, open it up in Photoshop and then you need to convert it to grayscale and then after it's grayscale, then you can choose duotone and then, right now, it's a monotone but you can have another color and you know, edit the curves and so on so that it's blended perfectly.
