- [Instructor] If you're over 50, you know about things that younger folks just don't, like dial-up modems and Letraset rubdown lettering, remember that? Or here's another one: kerning tables. Of course, everyone knows about kerning, right? It changes the amount of spacing between letters for a more pleasant, even look, like here in this text. I would definitely want to come in here and add some kerning, increasing the amount of space between this italic F and the parentheses that follows it. Over here, I'd want to take away a little bit of space between the W and the en dash. And look at this, this slash A, that just looks horrible. So, okay, how do we fix this? Well, we have a few choices. We could go in here and manually change the kerning for each of these pairs, but if there were hundreds or thousands of these throughout the document, that would be really tiresome.
