- My friend, Robin Williams, wrote two awesome books back in the 1990's called The Mac is Not a Typewriter and The PC is Not a Typewriter. but apparently a lot of people never got the memo because people still type spaces or a tab at the beginning of each paragraph. And then they send it to us, the InDesign user and we import it, and what are we supposed to do? Well, we need to remove the tab and apply a paragraph style. The proper paragraph style. And inside that paragraph style we've used the first-line indent feature. That's the way you're supposed to indent a paragraph. The first-line indent feature. Well, here's the problem. If I open up the Find/Change dialog box by pressing command f or control f on Windows and I search for all my tabs, and I can do that by clicking on this little @ symbol popup menu and clicking Tab and it types the code for me ^t.
