094 Making trading cards

Hi, I am Mike Rankin and welcome to InDesign FX. In this week's effect, we'll see how to make a trading card template that you can customize the design of and fill in with your own photos and text, like these ones that I created for the movies in the InDesign FX series. So, let's see how it's done. I'll go to the next page of my document, and I just prepared a little text in advance here that I am going to put on the card. The first step we want to do is to create the overall card shape and make it the right size. So I'll take my rectangle frame tool, click in the document, and the standard size for a trading card or baseball card is 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches. So that's what we'll enter in here, 3.5 in and 2.5 inches. Okay, I'll go to my swatches panel and I'll fill it with this dark purple color. I'll have to click up here to exchange the stroke and fill, 'cause the stroke was foremost there. So now I have the purple fill and no stroke. Next I want to make a rectangle to hold the…
