086 Centering type on a curve

Hi, I'm Mike Rankin and welcome to InDesign Effects. In this week's effect, we'll see how to create type that's perfectly centered on a curve. It's easy to place type on a path in InDesign, but sometimes it can be hard to get that type aligned exactly where you want it. But if you start with an ellipse and then remove one of the anchor points, the type has no choice but to be perfectly centered on the curve. Let's take a look. So, this is the effect that I'm going to create. I'll go to the next page of my document. And I'll start by creating that ellipse. I'll click on my Ellipse tool. Click in the document. And these are the values that I'll use in this case. 710 pixels wide by 350 pixels tall. And click OK. There's my ellipse. I'll take my Type on a Path tool, and I can literally click anywhere I want to on the path. I'll add some text. Select it. I'll make it really large. I'll change the font to Mesquite. I'll center it by pressing Cmd+Shift+C, or Ctrl+Shift+C on the PC. And I'll…
