- [Deke] In this movie, I'll take you on a tour…of the three Tile Types: Grid, Brick, and Hex,…and I'll also introduce you to the Pattern Tile tool.…I'm going to demonstrate these options…by editing our existing pattern swatch.…Now, when working with pattern swatches,…you don't have to select the object that's affected,…in our case this big rectangle,…and that's because patterns are always treated…as global swatches.…So, once again, without the rectangle selected,…I'll go ahead and double-click on a pattern swatch…in order to once again enter the Pattern Editor.…
Now, notice this Tile Type option right here,…by default, it is set to Grid.…Now, it doesn't have to be a square, by the way,…it can be any shape that you like.…And another way to modify the shape,…other than adjusting these values right here,…is to select this guy, the Pattern Tile tool,…and notice that it's a full-fledged tool.…So, a moment ago, my Black Arrow tool was selected…up here at the top of the toolbox,…but watch what happens when I select the Pattern Tile tool.…
