- In this movie, I'll show you how to work with smooth points, which ensure fluid transitions between curving segments. And what we're going to do is start with an ellipse and turn it into this artist's panel. I'll go ahead and switch over to this document, which includes a template layer in the background. And then, just to make things fair, so that I'm not snapping into alignment with that template, I'll go up to the View menu and turn off my smart guides. Another thing I want you to notice up here in the View menu, just is case your experience has been a little different than mine, is that I have the bounding box turned off. So if you're seeing a command called Hide Bounding Box and you want to get the same experience that you are seeing in the video, then go ahead and choose the command to turn the bounding box off. All right now, I'll go ahead and switch to the Ellipse tool here inside the Shape tool fly out menu. And I'll go ahead and draw a big ellipse on this top layer. And…
