Learn how to create artwork on a diagonal grid by changing the constrain angle.
- [Instructor] In this example, I'm going to show…how we can work with a diagonal grid.…On the left, I have a poster from 1929…by Russian Constructivists, and the Constructivists…were notable, amongst other things,…for their bold use of angles.…So on the right, I have my homage to this poster…and it's constructed at 30 degree angles.…So I want to set my angle of constraint…so that I can draw my artwork at those angles.…
Let me turn on the grid first of all,…Command or Control + Apostrophe…and you can see this is what the grid looks like…with an angle of constraint set at zero.…I'll come to my Preferences and General…and change it right here to minus 30.…And now you see how the artwork corresponds…with the angle of the grid.…There are a couple of things about my poster…that I need to finish, and now that I've changed…the constraint angle, it's going to be easier for me to do so.…
Let me zoom in.…I need to make some copies of this black bar.…I'll select it, hold down Option or Alt…and drag away from it.…Once I have one, to repeat that transformation,…
