Why and when to use vector masks

- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll talk about why you create vector masks inside Photoshop, and when's the best time to use them. Because, after all, drawing a path outline with the pen tool is an extremely labor-intensive operation. And by way of demonstration, we'll be taking this guy here and setting him against this background in order to create the illusion of this fellow flying upside-down through space. Now, in order to pull this off, we are going to have to create a complex outline indeed. Notice that I've gone ahead and represented the path outline in blue along with the anchor points in red. And if you think it's a little bit complicated to trace around this guy's head, it gets extremely interesting once we get to the hand and the fingers. And so, why go to all this work?
