Welcome - Illustrator Tutorial
From the course: Illustrator CS5 One-on-One: Advanced
Welcome
- Hi, I'm Deke McClelland. Hello, and welcome to Illustrator CS5 One-On-One Advanced, the second installment in my cradle-to-grave, everything-you-need-to-know series on Adobe Illustrator. And, it's all new. Every single bit of it. If you enjoyed the exhaustive fundamentals portion of the series, and I hope you did, then you're gonna like this course even better. First of all, it's shorter. 95 movies shorter, to be exact. It's like a novella; you're gonna fly through it. Second, this is where Illustrator really comes alive. In chapter 13, live trace, we build a real-world project from sketch to execution. Then I show you how to use gradients to turn a basic line drawing into a teeming, dare I say, lustrous, illustration. If the gradient tool doesn't do it for you, you can create custom gradients in path sequences, using blends and masks. In chapter 16, I show you how to build a mind-bending M.C. Escher effect using tile patterns. Then we create a Celtic knot that weaves in and out of…
