Create a poster design that invokes the style, spirit, and typography of the Constructivist movement.
- [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Nigel French. In this episode of the Type Style Series, we'll use Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop to create a typographic treatment in a style inspired by constructivism, an influential movement that originated in Russian in 1919. We're look at choosing historically-appropriate type and how to treat it to create a look that clearly evokes the style. We'll use techniques that can be applied in all sorts of design situations.
We'll look at aligning, spacing, and rotating our type. We will enhance the type treatment with a simple illustration, and we'll see how we can add texture. Let's get started.
