From the course: Lettering Comic Books with Illustrator
Weak or "deflated" balloons
- Have you reached your limit? Are you at the end of your rope? Can you literally not letter one more page or watch one more video? This video will show you how to express those feelings in word balloon form. Gotcha! So to show you this we've moved on to the next page in the story of Astro City, page 15 of the story, which is labeled in the Exercise Files as AstroCity3, Art Script and Placements and we can see that Winged Victory and Warmaiden here still duking it out, Warmaiden is presumably yammering on until Winged Victory lands that final punch and in the last panel here she's standing over Warmaiden, and let's take a look at the script and see what it calls for. So we can see here, Panel Four in the script, Winged Victory is talking and then in these last two balloons it says Warmaiden (ragged). So what does he mean by that? Let's go to the lettering key and take a look. So here's the writer's lettering key and I'm looking here for "ragged" and I don't see any reference to it…
