Using variable type
- [Instructor] Illustrator for iPad supports the use of variable type faces. And I have here my text in a variable typeface called Acumen Variable Concept. What this means is that from a single font outline, we can interpolate various different widths and weights, and in the case of this particular variable font, also slants, as well. If I come to my properties panel just to the right of the font style, I can click on the variable font widget, and we have these axes, weight, width, and slant. So I'm going to use variable type to illustrate these words. And we'll start off with everything in the heaviest, widest version available, and then we'll select everything but that first letter and reduce. And you get the idea. A little bit lighter, a little bit narrower each time. Let's scale up the whole thing. And then we'll center that on the art board. And there is our effect. That's all the same size of type. We're…
