- [Instructor] In this chapter, we're going to talk…about Illustrator symbols.…Symbols are another terrific tool…that really speed up workflow,…especially for things like buttons,…which do change frequently in the fashion industry.…The way to use them is to create a button…and then make it a symbol before you start applying it…to your flats.…Then, if you need to change out the buttons,…all you need to do is select one of them.…Go up to Select, Same, Symbol Instance,…and now I've selected all the buttons.…
In order to change it out, I'm just going to select the button…I want to change it to, dropdown over here…and Replace Symbol.…And now all of those buttons are now silver instead of gold.…I also have the back view here of a different button.…We'll do the same thing, Select, Same, Symbol Instance.…We'll switch it to the silver one,…and we will Replace Symbol, and now those are all silver.…And that's why symbols are so great.…In the next movies, we'll start covering how to make some.…
