- [Narrator] Now it's time to talk about color. There are numerous places in Illustrator where we can change color but today I'd like to focus on three of of them. The first is the toolbar, the second is in the control panel, and the third is the swatches panel over here in the panel dock and I'm just going to open this up so we can get a better look at it. Before we get into color though, I should point out that Illustrator has a default setting. Illustrator default is the white fill and a black stroke. The shortcut key for default is the letter D or you can click on the default icon, which is this icon right here in the toolbar. You'll notice that since I don't have anything selected right now it's showing the Illustrator default. There's the icon for the white fill and there's the black stroke.
