Join Kevin Stohlmeyer for an in-depth discussion in this video Using the Pencil tool and the Brush tool, part of Using Wacom Tablets with Illustrator.
- So here we are in Adobe Illustrator CC 2015…and I've opened up the Face.ai exercise file.…Notice that I'm on the layer called Painting…and this is the active layer…that we're gonna be using for this exercise.…We're first gonna take a look at…the pressure sensitive options…for using the Brush Tool and the Pencil Tool.…To set these up, simply double-click the Brush Tool…and it'll bring up Paintbrush Options.…The only option that we need to make sure…that we have for this is Keep Selected.…
It doesn't really have a pressure sensitive setting,…but what it does is it allows me to go through…and keep it selected so I can add…pressure sensitive options later.…For instance, if I go through and I select a color…and I decide to paint in an accent with the Brush Tool,…you'll notice that it is giving me…some pressure sensitive options as I go through and draw.…This is because of the certain brush that I'm using.…However, since it's still selected, I can use my Touch Ring…to go through and select Brush Size.…And then using my Touch Ring I can go through…
- Changing the pen nib
- Customizing the ExpressKeys, touch options, and more
- Painting and drawing
- Cleaning up with the Eraser tool
- Using special tools like the Bristle brush
