- [Instructor] In this movie I'll show you how to duplicate fill and stroke attributes using the eye dropper tool. And along the way we'll duplicate and augment the free-form gradient assigned to the star in order to create this gradient background. And so here's the idea. If I were to switch back to the black arrow selection tool and click on these stripes in order to select them then I could go over here to this fill option, click on it, and then I could save this gradient as a swatch by clicking on the little plus sign. Now when you're creating a gradient swatch you don't have the option to edit it, nor can you turn it into a global swatch. All you can do is name it. And so I'll just call this guy red orange red let's say, and then I'll click OK. You can also save radial gradients and swatches.
