- What we're going to do today is create a book for a fairytale, okay? It's going to be a story about long ago. So this scene right here that I have on the screen now is perfect for what I want. Now what it is, is basically a shot taken from a tall skyscraper in Paris using the maximum zoom on an iPhone, and that's the shot. So there's slight graininess to it, it's not as clear as you'd like it to be. It wasn't a very clear day, somewhat overcast, and that's a shot. Not a great shot, but it's going to be perfect for what we want, because we don't want any perfect shot. In fact, we want a shot that almost looks archival or some kind of ancient painting or something. So here's what we're going to do is we're going to take that image and we're going to duplicate that layer right there. And this first layer that I put on top here, what I'm going to do is I'm going to go in there and I'm going to change the mode of it. Now change the mode to hard mix.
