- [Instructor] So maybe you've made a pattern and you like it, but maybe you want it to be tilted around a little bit, or maybe smaller or larger. Who knows? Do you make another pattern? No, you transform the one you've got. What I'm going to do is I'll select this rectangle just here. Then I'm going to go to the Appearance panel because this is based on an appearance combining two fills together. So a solid fill underneath and the pattern fill on top. So keeping that focused just there, I'm going to go up to the Effect menu and I'm going to come down to Distort and Transform and then Transform where I can actually make my changes. Now you can do this with the regular Transformation tools. So they will all allow you to change patterns, but I prefer this one because it's so much easier to make fine tuning changes.
