Texture-capturing tools - Illustrator Tutorial

Texture-capturing tools
- Because textures are everywhere, you'll want to be prepared to capture them when you notice them. That's how you'll build and grow you're own texture library. The only tool needed to do this is a camera. You only need one camera, but since there are many types of cameras, I'm going to briefly share three types I've used to capture textures. During the course of a normal day you can cross paths with inspiring surface textures and the easiest camera to access on a moments notice is going to be your cell phone camera. Hold the phone with both hands as you take the photo to ensure that there's the least amount of blurring going on. Take more than one photo so you know you captured the texture accurately. This will ensure you can turn it into a usable texture later. Another camera I like to use is one where it gives me a little more control and that's my Nikon Point & Shoot. It gives me a higher resolution and it's easier to handle than my cell phone. If needed, I can put it on a tripod…
