Taking sketches digital
- The final phase of my sketching process is to choose one or two of my sketches that I want to pull into graphics editing software. What this allows me to do is to use the sketches as a base for my finished artwork and it really helps to make sure that I translate correctly the elements that I like from my sketch. There are numerous ways to get your sketches from the page and into your software, but you're probably going to either scan the artwork with a scanner or just take a photo of it using your phone. The method you use will probably depend upon your access to scanners as well as the desired level of fidelity. The only thing I really need my scan to do is to provide me a guide to go by in my drawing software so I don't really need a high-quality scan which is probably what I would do if I were actually seeking to vectorize my sketch.
