Subtle texturing in Illustrator

- When you use textures, it doesn't have to be overtly handled. Applying them to your design in a subtle way can make your design's aesthetic more impactful. Let me show you how I did this for an event graphic in Illustrator. It's easy when you're using textures, expecially inside Illustrator, to over do it. Textures can become so dominant that it kind of overpowers the message and the artwork and you don't want to do that. You want to use it in a complimentary way that it either reinforces or improves the overall design. It doesn't have to be screaming for attention. It can be used in a very, very subtle way. It's all about having a light touch in terms of how you use them at times and in this case, I like my design here but I wanted it to be a little more tactile, in essence, and I thought textures would be a good way to do that.
