Stroking a path with the Brush tool

- [Narrator] In this movie, we'll finish off the effect by adding this lip around the hole in the neck. And notice that the front of this edge is thicker than the back. And that's because Photoshop allows you to simulate pressure sensitivity when stroking a path outline using the brush tool. Now let me show you how that works. I'll go ahead and switch over to my image so far, and I will zoom in as well. And the first thing we need to do is select the whole layer and grab its vector-based mask and convert it to an independent path outline. And we're going to do that as we did before by switching to the paths panel and then grabbing that shape path right there and dragging it and dropping it onto the little page icon at the bottom of the panel. And notice that gives us an independent path outline. And I'll call this new path Edge, let's say, and press the Enter key or the Return key on a Mac.
