- In this movie we're gonna talk about special ways to drag objects using the Black and White Arrow tools across all the design applications, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Starting with how do you drag things at precise angles? Specifically, how do you constrain a movement to the closest 45 degree angle, whether you're dragging whole objects or independent elements such as anchor points and control handles. And the answer in all three applications is that you press and hold the Shift key while dragging, for example, a path with the Black Arrow tool. Or, you press and hold Shift while dragging one or more selected anchor points, or a lone control handle, with the White Arrow tool. And once again, we've got these asterisks and the idea is that the Shift key must remain down for the constraint to take. If you release the Shift key the path anchor point or control handle will again move freely. To reassert the constraint, press and hold Shift. And let me show you what I mean by…
