Snapping objects to characters of type

- [Instructor] Now, we'll take a look at another recent addition to Illustrator which is your ability to snap objects to the outlines of editable characters of type, such as this type right here. So notice this is the word type. It hasn't been converted to outlines, but now it behaves is though it has. And this is a function of having two commands turned on by the way. Go to the View menu and make sure your Smart Guides are turned on. Mine aren't, so I'll go ahead and choose the command in order to turn the Smart Guides on. And then I'll return to the View menu. You want to make sure that Snap to Glyph is turned on and that Step to Grid is turned off. And for good measure, you probably want to turn off Snap to Pixel as well. And that's because you don't want anything getting in the way of Step to Glyph. And so now notice if I click on this line right here, it's grouped along with the words Cap Height. And so what I'm…
