Signposts and stacking order
- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll take a look at signposts and stacking order, which are two concepts that are very important to understanding drawing with the Pen tool inside of Illustrator. Along the way, we'll create this crescent-shaped wrinkle right next to Groucho's eye. The first thing I'm going to do is zoom way in by pressing and holding Control and Spacebar, that's Command and Spacebar on a Mac, which gets us a Zoom tool. Then just go ahead and drag to the right, like so, in order to zoom in continuously. Now, we're going to draw this crescent using the Pen tool, so go ahead and select the Pen, which you can get by pressing the P key. Now, inside this version of Illustrator, we get a black pen cursor, in other versions, it appears silver. But in any event, it works exactly the same way. Now, as you may recall, a couple of chapters ago, you'll want to draw in a consistent direction when creating a path outline, either clockwise or counterclockwise. Let's say I want to start…
