Learn about finding and removing embedded pictures to speed up the render in After Effects.
- [Instructor] Sometimes, you'll find yourself working…within Illustrator vector file…or files inside After Effects,…and although those layers are vector based,…the application will start to feel sluggish…for no apparent reason.…If this happens to you, as well,…it's worth to check for embedded pictures…in the original Illustrator document.…To illustrate what I mean,…I'm going to select one of the layers over here,…and I'm going to go to the Edit menu…and choose Edit Original, to open this document…inside Adobe Illustrator.…
Now, to find out if there are some embedded pictures here,…I'm going to go to the Window menu…and choose the Links panel.…And this is going to show you everything…that you've imported to this document,…whether you chose to place it as a reference file,…meaning that you are pointing to the directory…that it exists externally,…or as in this case, an embedded picture.…Now, in both cases, After Effects doesn't play nicely…with those elements,…and you may experience a slow performance…due to these images.…
