- All right, so after five movies of learning how to use the pen tool we have this to show for it, which is fairly horrifying. Which is why I'd like to spend a few more movies focusing on a real world project, namely this one right here in which everything has been drawn with the pen tool with the exception of this text up here at the top which was originally set in Spring Standard. All right, so, let me show you how it works. We'll start by going up to the File menu and choosing New From Template... or you can press Control + Shift + N or Command + Shift + N on a Mac. And then I'll go ahead and double click on that RGB with center guides.ait file in order to open up my blank document. I will click on the guides layer to make it active and then I will go up to the View menu, choose Guides, and choose Clear Guides. Because we may need guides in the future, they won't be these.
