Join Kevin Stohlmeyer for an in-depth discussion in this video Painting with the Art brush and the Calligraphic brush, part of Illustrator: Using Wacom Tablets.
- Now we're going to customize our brush settings…to use the pressure sensitivity of our pen and tablet.…Going over to our Brush panel…we have calligraphic brushes under Artistic Brushes.…So what I'm going to do is I'm going to…double click and open up a five point round brush.…Now depending on your setup…Illustrator may already know that you have a…Wacom tablet set up,…and it's already switched my size…to pressure sensitivity.…Since this is a five point brush…my variation will only allow me to go up to…the size of the brush, which is five point.…
If you come in here and you notice that it's…set to Fixed, simply go to the drop down menu…and choose Pressure…and then adjust your Variation from zero to five…giving you the full range of width.…Hit Okay.…And now when we go back to my Brush tool…and I go in and paint…you'll notice that I have pressure sensitivity.…So I can go from thin to thick using this tool.…Now this seems a little intense for color,…so one thing that I'm going to do…is go back to my Layer options here.…
