- For the most part, Illustrator does a great job of exporting out SVG files. Any time I've heard somebody complain about the size of Illustrator's SVGs, or all this sort of internal cruft that Illustrator puts into it, it's usually a result of somebody not understanding the export settings out of Illustrator rather than Illustrator's fault. However, you can always do a little bit better and so in this exercise I want to show you guys how to take the SVG files that you've exported out of Illustrator and then optimize them. And we're going to use a free service to do that called SVGOMG and this was created by Jake Archibald. You can Google this or you can go to jakearchibald.github.io/svgomg. So it's a very simple interface. The first thing it's asking you to do is open up an SVG so I'm going to go right up here to the upper left-hand corner and click on that.
