- [Instructor] A good combination of color and blend mode can really make a typographic composition. Look what happens when I select the type at the top, come to the properties panel and change the blend mode from normal to multiply. A point I want to make here is that the blending passes down onto the type beneath, and then onto any background beneath. If I remove the background color from the equation by coming to the layers panel and hiding that layer, you'll see the result is completely different. There is no way currently in Illustrator for iPad to restrict the blending just to the group. It's going to pass all the way down through your layers.
