- [Instructor] I want to talk to you about Moodboards and show you how Illustrator can help you to make Moodboards. Moodboards are a great tool to use to be able to cut through the ambiguous terms that people use to communicate what they're trying to envision. Being a graphic designer requires a certain level of telepathy to fully understand a client's vision before starting a project. Using a moodboard is the best way to visually communicate ideas between parties and ensure everyone's on the same page before getting too deep into a design. Have you ever met with a client and heard them say, "I want my site to be friendly and cutting edge." You're kind of like uh okay, those terms are really helpful. Everyone's friendly and cutting edge could mean something drastically different.
