- [Instructor] Here, I'm going to create a very minimalist-type treatment, which is really an exercise in seeing how much of the letter form we can remove and have the type still be legible. So I have my word, which is in Ratio Modern, and I have over this drawn several lines, and I've drawn these with the pencil tool. If you want to draw a straight line with the pencil tool, just hold down your touch modifier as you do so. And then it was a question of just duplicating these lines and moving them and rotating them as necessary. I'd like to duplicate this art board so that I can retain the original. I'll choose my Art Board tool, click on Duplicate. And when you do so the artwork, assuming that it is not locked, will also be copied. And on this copy, I'm going to select the type, come to the Type panel, outline the text, tap done. Now select the type and all of those lines that I will use to dissect it, come to Combine…
