Managing artboards

Illustrator CS4 made great strides by addressing the number one feature request in the history of the program, the ability to create a multi-page document. But Adobe resolutely refused to call the pages, pages, rather these Artboards, as they're known, exist independently of the printed page. Each Artboard can be any size, one vertical, another horizontal, to meet the unique needs of your project. So a single Illustrator document can incorporate all variations on a design, from a logo or business card, to a piece of poster art. That's all great, but its implementation was a little rough. For example, if you did perhaps want to create a multi-page document, your Page Management Options were nearly nonexistent. You couldn't even renumber the Artboards. That changes in Illustrator CS5. Now we have an Artboards panel that lets you name, number, and otherwise manage your pages.
