In this movie you will learn about layers in Adobe Illustrator, and how they can be used to organize the component elements of your work. You will discover why they are an important feature that can help you to work more efficiently.
- [Instructor] Illustrator has and supports fully, layers.…And in fact the Illustrator implementation of layers…is so awesome they were even adopted by InDesign…a few years back.…And they're so similar for that,…read exactly the same as Illustrator's,…that they are almost indistinguishable from each other.…So layers are a great way for you to organize…your illustrations.…And this is especially useful when they become larger…and more complex.…
Looking at the illustration you can see at the bottom…of this art board just here,…I could, for example, layer this out like so…if I wanted to.…I could have one layer for the background color there…and then above that I might have the cloud that you can see…and I've got that kind of that…airflowy stream above that as well.…So I could bring that in.…Then the mountain across the top there…and finally the foliage that you can see in the foreground.…
So I've done this a slight angle,…but hopefully you can visualize that if you were above this…looking down directly,…that would be the end result that you can see there.…
